“All the windows of my heart I open to this day.” Whittier’s quote has been a touchstone for me throughout my 30-year career. As a former educator and higher ed administrator, I’ve always had a small chalkboard hanging near my desk with quotes to inspire my action and steady my focus. This line speaks to my curious nature and belief in possibility and wonder. Keeping my ears open and my eyes soft, I welcome whatever events enter each day…and whatever clients bring to each session.
“Trust the process” is my mantra. Whether sitting beside a student with writer’s block, supporting a colleague tasked with a major project, or holding space for a coaching client to access her own wisdom, I remind myself that the answers lie within the heart of the individual. With patient, curious trust in a sacred space of allowing, answers always come. As a transformational life coach, I believe in the profound power of listening – client to himself and coach with client – as the foundation for accessing intuition, aligning values to action, and changing the world from the inside out.
Prior to earning my Transformational Coaching Certification with Leadership that Works, I was a public-school educator and higher education administrator. In my various roles, I supported students of all ages and led professional teams to notable program successes. Earning my bachelors in English and French Education from East Stroudsburg University and a master’s in Education from Wilkes University, my signature work included supporting middle and high schoolers in writing for discovery and publication, as well as leading a professional development network for educators in my region. A successful grant writer, I cultivated partnerships and amassed resources in order to galvanize efforts on behalf of students of promise. Truly seeing and being seen have been at the heart of my professional and personal relationships. Through coaching and in all exchanges, I believe in embodying love and understand that, when one is strengthened, all are stronger.
To balance my working life, I love reading, writing, experimenting with new recipes, entertaining at home, and accepting impromptu adventures with friends. As Vonnegut reminds us, “Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God.” I welcome an opportunity to support your journey too!
