Coaching for Transformation is the first and only accredited coach training program for the social sector. If you advocate for social justice, lead a nonprofit, organize communities or build movements, this program helps you expand your impact. You’ll learn to empower people to deepen cultural respect and shift their relationship to power and privilege. Through coaching, you’ll address many forms of oppression, including racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, ablism, and more.

Accredited by the International Coach Federation, Coaching for Transformation is built on commitment to the values of social justice and making coaching accessible to less-served communities. This program is led by coach trainers with extensive experience in:

  • addressing the assets and challenges faced by people of different cultures and national origins
  • enhancing leadership by diving into diversity and practicing cultural respect
  • healing internalized oppression in a supportive learning community
  • building the capacity in nonprofit leaders and organizers
  • developing spiritual intimacy for healing and alignment

Leadership that Works is an innovator in the coaching field and a lead partner with the Coaching and Philanthropy Project (CAP) created to assess and advance coaching as a strategy for building effective nonprofit organizations. Utilizing the results from the CAP project, CFT-Los Angeles includes competencies for coaches working in the nonprofit sector and with diverse (race, gender, class, etc.) communities. We actively seek new ways to address the needs of the nonprofit sector and integrate them into our dynamic coach-training curriculum.

Program What Graduates are Saying

Coaching for Transformation taught me skills to create a shared sense of ownership in our community. I am seen as a stronger leader and a better person in my work. Coaching is a radical form of de-colonization where people become whole, recognize their uniqueness, and trust their divine knowing about their community needs. This is especially useful when multiple generations have experienced trauma, oppression and subjugation. Coaching for Transformation is the tool for generational healing. —Sophia Kizilbash

The coaching course rejuvenated me. I’ve never had this much impact—I’ve strengthened my intuition and my approach is a return to the old—it feels ancient, sacred, and intuitive. The biggest change in my life is that I feel free and I am not afraid. —Leslie Brown

Asian woman coaching LA01 EVENTI’ve attended some dry academic coaching courses in the past, but what instinctively called me to CFT was its edgy feel, and its values of creativity and social justice. The program has been the single most important learning experience I’ve had in over a decade. CFT helped me remember my core values, quirky strengths, and love for community and connection. The program enabled me to trust my intuition and take creative risks, and in turn, it provided me with the tools to help clients do the same. —Jessica Balboni

Coaching for Transformation is an outstanding coach training program that delves into areas generally mentioned but seldom taught. I received formal coach trainings from various schools in the last ten years but this is the first time a program has actually taken me into areas of developing intuition, working with client and coach's vulnerability, allowed coach to experiment with transformative pathways. This program is highly recommended for anyone interested in becoming a highly competent coach, but even more recommended for those who, like me, spent years coaching and are searching for mastery. —Isabelle Min

I help young women in leadership roles step into their power. Shifting from consulting to coaching, my clients are taking ownership in their decisions. The impact of Coaching for Transformation on me personally is magical—the quality of my life and relationships has improved because I’m letting in love and learning. —Dara Silverman
