 Sarah Jawaid, PCC

“I crave connectedness with the world around me. It is through this desire that I believe in the power of people to be connected to one another, witness the beauty in each other and be changed by that witnessing to stand against injustice that impacts any one of us.”

Sarah wants to be a part of creating a world where storytelling and racial healing and transformation are pathways to freedom, by both releasing ancestral trauma while building a world where we are in pursuit of elevating our highest spiritual selves.

Since 2008, Sarah has worked in various non-profits that worked to pass policies to make the lives of low-income individuals better. She brings the technical experience of moving systemic change with the understanding that the most powerful revolution is internal. As a coach and organizer, Sarah invites clients to bring their whole selves to build the lives, organizations and movements of their wildest dreams. The creative space that emerges when we are fully aligned is where Sarah believes the transcendent magic happens.

Sarah’s work includes interfaith community organizing, policy wins on the passage of Ban the Box, a city-wide policy removing the felony box on job application to prevent employer discrimination as well as Prop 47, a CA statewide ballot initiative that turned six non-violent felonies into misdemeanors, giving folks that have paid their time a chance at a better life.

Aside from coaching, Sarah has experience in building effective teams across race, gender and other factors. Her leadership style can be described as humble servant for the power needing to be birthed in the moment. Sarah also participated in the country’s first women’s mosque including delivering the khutbah (sermon) on the importance of social justice in Islam. In 2016, she was invited to meet with President Barack Obama to discuss her organizing work in Los Angeles where she used coaching skills to ground herself to speak the truth of the folks she was representing. She has a B.S. from the University of Southern California in public policy and a master's degree from UC Irvine in urban planning.

Aside from her work, Sarah loves to paint, read, deepen her spiritual work as a Muslim, and spend time with her partner and daughter in their hometown of Los Angeles.
